A long-form profile tracing the path from visual effects on Infernal Affairs and The Legend of Zu, through the years in Seoul working on immersive design, to completing a doctorate at RMIT during the pandemic while writing A Guilty Conscience — and on to leading the School of Film and Television. It sets out the three things I want to push here: virtual production, international academic partnership, and using AI to digitise classic Hong Kong film scenes.
