PolyU Design named me 2025 Distinguished Design Alumnus of the Year for Professional Achievement — 「2025年度傑出設計校友 — 專業成就」. I took my Master of Design in Design Strategies there in 2010, and later led industry research on immersive media and interaction at PlayLab, the School of Design’s game research centre. I was proposed for the award by Mr Chan Kwok Keung Paul.

The judging panel was chaired by Prof. Lee Kun-Pyo, Dean of the School of Design, with Prof. Duh Been Lirn Henry, Prof. Leong Benny, and two previous awardees — Tommy Li and James O.
The citation also recognised CineDESK, developed with HKAPA, Zurich University of the Arts and the FilmEU Alliance, which took a place in the Global Top 10 for User Experience Design at the Global Design Awards 2025. CineDESK uses Unreal Engine for real-time photorealistic 3D sequence rendering, supporting collaborative scene blocking and motion capture — and by digitising the data of filmmaking itself, it opens the door to AI-driven insight in virtual production.
